Ana (CLANNAD Original Soundtrack)
Lyrics: Ogiwara Yuu
Vocal: Lia
The place changes and goes. Like a wind, like clouds.
Like the traces of the heart, no halt at the places.
The place is so far away. be far apart.
people's hand does not reach,so merely has (the) worship.
The place is a lofty lord. can't meet nobody put on.
We will lose the place.so lofty which changes.
Not all were desired. However, we're never sad.
still, there is still the place.far away. far away.
(The wind) blows through the place. an endless, with all.
Like the ripple float on the water, It blows as it goes.
the place is No make at all. Nothing is shown.
Like the sand clasped by hand, It falls vainly.
The place is (a) profound lord, and wear the vain faint light.
But we will find it in the place. The hut at which it stands still.
if not concerned with all,It will maintain that No dye.
therefore there is still the hut. It's lonly, solitary.
no halt at the wind.it soars to the sky.
Like the verdure (which) meets with sunrise, It grows up as reborn.
The hut has held new one.that's different from all.
like the sand castle of the children, but realized with the mind.
The person is a vain statue.wear taciturnity calm.
still,We will know a huge flow.It is stopped by nobody.
soon, the wind wears the snow cloud. will be dyed to snow-white.
Summer grass will incline. No sunlight, feebly shade.
The place buried in deep snow.like the collapsing castle.
like the head of the shade, figure will be thrown away
The hut buried in deep snow.It sinks in to the flood.
and The "not dyeing" is dyed out,and waits for a oppose one.
Even if all are healed, be gonna no return.
there is still the place.far away. far away.
The place changes and goes. Like a wind, like clouds.
Like the traces of the heart, no halt at the places.
The place is a lofty lord. can't meet nobody put on.
still, there is still the place.far away. far away.

Don't mind the Engrish...it's still a beautiful song. When this song was played at Kouko's wedding (Ep9) and Tomoyo's meeting with Tomoya in the snow (Ep24), it was perfect for the mood...
...damn I'm feeling sad again.

Suzumiya Haruhi no Gekisou review
Language: JapaneseRun time: Combined - 3 hr 15 min (2 DVD)
Video format: NTSC
Screen format: 4:3, 16:9
Release date: 27 July 2007
DVD Region: 2
(pics of my DVD coming soon)
On the 18th of March this year (that's roughly.....4 months ago?), a concert featuring the Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu (The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi) voice actors was staged. The Haruhi anime was a big smash hit last year, and it was no surprise that eventually something like this happened. Simply put, it is THE event for all anime fans (especially for the Suzumiya fans) to go to.
Unfortunately for non Japanese (like me), getting to Japan is no easy job. And most likely, you've missed out on this event. But no fret, as Lantis has released this on DVD. Woot. But there's a slight catch - this is an R2 DVD which means you need an R2 DVD player (or a region free one, whichever works for you).
The first DVD introduces all the seiyuus (well at least the main ones) from the anime (and I think the author of the light novel). Following that was talk with all the seiyuus. (Note to self: Shiraishi's Wa Wa Wasuremono is STILL the win - this is before he sung the longer ver on Lucky Star mind you).
Towards the end of the DVD, the SOS-dan seiyuus did a skit made of absolute win. Even if you don't understand Japanese, the skit is still hilarious.
L-R: Sugita Tomokazu, Ono Daisuke, Chihara Minori, Yuko Goto, Hirano Aya, during the hilarious skit.Obviously, DVD 1 won't mean much if you don't understand a shred of Japanese. No there are no subs you can stop dreaming now :D
The second DVD is where the fun begins. It's the concert where the seiyuus sings some songs from the anime or their character CD. It was a wonderful performance from all the seiyuus who performed. Quite a lot of the songs are from the character CDs so you are more likely to have heard them for the first time unless you've been buying them.
Some shots from DVD2:
Yuko Goto starts the concert with Koi no Mikuru Densetsu.
Chihara Minori's performance during "SELECT?" The fans are going wild. Damn I wish I was there. =_=
Matsuoka Yuki (Tsuruya-san)'s performance. My fav song of the lot :p
Hirano Aya and her live band performing "Lost My Music".
Chihara Minori, Hirano Aya and Yuko Goto during the Hare Hare Yukai performance. The most lively song of them all.

Is this a worthy buy? Yes. If you are a Haruhi fan it is a crime if you don't have this in your collection. If you like anime music in general this DVD is great too. Nevertheless this DVD rocks!! Woohoo!
You can buy the DVD from Play-Asia or YesAsia. Thanks for reading and good night :)

Moonshell + DPG = Anime on DS?
I was wondering how Moonshell would work with movies. Moonshell is a homebrew (it comes with the R4, but you can download it for your flashcart if you want) designed to play mostly music, but you can also use it to view images and view DPG videos. Does it work well? Welll....sort of....
First things first, Moonshell has a limitation of not being able to run most video formats. No AVI, No WMV, and certainly no MPEG. So far, I've only seen it able to run DPG formats. And here is where the complications arise:
Converting takes a lot of time. With an AMD Athlon XP 1.8ghz and 1GB RAM, a simple Hare Hare Yukai (remember the TV size full ver dance?), set to the best quality and optimal settings take +/ 20-25 minutes.
The size of the file was only in the end, 4.5MB. But it took THAT long. Not for people with no patience.
Wait, then that first screenshot....
Well, that one took me 45 minutes to 1 hour. But its set to Normal quality. Ultra (best quality) would take more than 1 hour probably. The file size came up to 57MB, roughly 1/3-1/4th of the original file.
Thanks for reading :)
